The Journal of Family, Gender and Society (FGS) seeks to encourage integration and growth in the multidisciplinary and international domains of inquiry that define contemporary Family Science. The journal publishes original research in all areas of family and society.

The journal draws from a broad range of the social sciences, family science, sociology, and allied disciplines, developmental and social psychology, gender studies, communications, and allied fields.

FGS Serves as an international forum for topical issues, Up-to-Date Research, theory using the variety of methods reflective of the full range of social sciences, including quantitative, qualitative, and multi-method designs, and Analyses on Marriage and Family Life.

Due to focus of the journal and the nature of gender and family development, FGS invites papers with a range of approaches and methodologies arising from varied data sources and geographies.
